As part of the Glasgow Film Festival, PLACE Projects and Market Gallery presents a programme of films around the theme of architecture and urban experience, juxtaposing archival footage of Glasgow's evolution, short documentaries, and films by both established and emerging artists to create a poetic meditation on our experiences as urban dwellers against a backdrop of the city lights.

PLACE Projects is a Glasgow-based, artists-led initiative led by Cheryl Field, Jamie Kenyon and Rose Ruane. We started PLACE Projects in 2008 and at it’s core PLACE Projects is about building a community of emerging artists and supporting opportunities for that community to make and show work. PLACE Projects focus on conceiving projects that foster risk-taking and provide innovative parameters within which emerging artists may be challenged and fulfilled. Our policy is to create a network of practitioners at a similar stage of their careers, each of whom can contribute to an ethos of supporting one another through peer to peer skill sharing, open and honest critical feedback and the generation of further opportunities.
